Concious Organics

Whole Foods has been self-described and marketed as 'concious capitalism.' While the label may inspire some feel good and greater sense of purpose within the ranks in addition to frequenting a noble establishment among consumers, perhaps it is time to examine the merchant of all that is organic. First, it would be hard to imagine a company that is owned by Amazon to adequately apply "conscious" with capitalism, which is exampled by the seemingly nefarious level of taylorism at warehouses applied to humans who are genetically not robots. Secondly, Whole Foods currently holds a 1.8/5 rating from 280 reviewers via trustpilot. Thirdly, prices seem to be questionable while Amazon clearly hasn't bothered to apply taylorism regarding the frequent traffic jams around each aisle. A closer look at prices against a competitor are exampled by organic products in the following:

100% grassfed whole milk 64oz $6.49 vs $4.98

pasture raised large brown grade a eggs dozen $4.79 vs $4.26

100% whole wheat bread $3.69 vs $3.34

unsweetened almond milk $3.49 vs $2.97

whole carrots 1lb $1.49 vs $0.98

strawberries 1lb $3.99 vs $3.48

iceberg lettuce $2.79 vs $2.08

gala apples 1lb $2.79 vs $2.04

apple juice 64oz $3.79 vs $2.78

green tea 16 count $5.49 vs $4.78

ground coffee 10.5oz $11.99 vs $9.98

crunchy vanilla cereal $4.99 vs $4.58

grassfed ground beef 93/7 1lb $8.99 vs $7.28

boneless skinless chicken breast 1lb $9.99 vs $8.12

TOTAL: Whole Foods $74.76 vs $61.65

Above shows a difference of $13.11 regarding the exact same products or equivalent. Last, everything may not be what it seems at the establishment. The company found itself at odds with PETA over animal rights, as well as House Rabbit Society due to rabbit meat. Why not take the extra revenue and provide customers with gold plated shopping carts to at least make the traffic jams easier on the eyes, or consumers could take that $13.11 saved on roughly every $62 spent to buy a rabbit at a fair. While loyalists may certainly choose a description of the Whole Foods experience as a utopia over cultlike, a golden shopping cart plus a rabbit may help persuade others.
